Harvest Gold Gallery would like to extend an open invitation to our annual Plein Air event.  Come see some of our favorite artists in action painting our beautiful scenic view of Kezar Lake and the White Mountains on Saturday August 1^st beginning at 10AM.  

En Plein Air is a French expression that translates to “in the open air”, and is used to describe the act of painting outdoors.  While studio painting creates a fixed and mostly pre-determined outcome, Plein Air painting reproduces the actual visual conditions seen at the time of the painting. Here at Harvest Gold Gallery each new day looking at our majestic view is like looking at a new painting.  The colors of the mountains, clouds, and water are ever changing, providing an ideal backdrop not only for our gallery, but also for our Plein Air event.

This year among the very talented artists joining us will be Kristen Dill, Sandy Bell, Diane Scott, Varvara Harmon and our very own Thea Hart.  You don’t want to miss this event.      We would like to extend a huge Thank You to everyone who attended our Annual Artist Reception and Open House!

This was our 14th Annual Artist Reception & Open House, and they just get more fun and enjoyable as the years go on! Thank you again to everyone who attended, and for those of you that couldn't make it, we missed you dearly.

 Next on the the agenda will be our Plein Air event August 1st, an amazing opportunity to see some of our artists in action painting scenes from our beautiful location. 

Open House Fun!

An amazing time was had by all at Harvest Gold's Annual Holiday Open House!

Our featured artist's this year were plein air artist-Diane Scott, children's book author- Robin Chiarello, and wildlife artist & children's book author/illustrator-Thomas Merriam.

We had the privilege of witnessing Diane's live art painting of her nephew come to life in front of our eyes!

We enjoyed conversation with Robin who was signing her amazing books.

We had the opportunity to laugh with Tom while enjoying his fun stories and witty humor!

Thank you to everyone who came out in support of local art.  We enjoyed the pleasure of your company!

We invite you to visit Arabica and Crema Coffee shops in Portland Maine to see a beautiful display of art by Diane Scott- A New England Plein Air artist and a favorite of ours at Harvest Gold Gallery.  Diane's art will be available for viewing and purchase at the shops through Christmas.

Crema Coffee Shop is located at 9 Commercial Street and Arabica Coffee Co. is located at 2 Free Street.  

Diane  is also a featured artist who will be at our Open House at Harvest Gold Gallery on November 30th from 12-6pm.  

About Diane Scott

Diane Scott was born in Canada and graduated from the Hertfordshire College of Art and Design in England.  As a multiple award winning artist she shows and sells from four galleries in New England and has her work in corporate and private collections in Canada, England, France, Russia and the United States.

Plein Air Celebration!

This past Saturday and Sunday was a flash of color 

in a flash of time. 

Four local Plein Air artists came out to play and paint

in the beautiful foliage of New England, in Lovell, Maine.

Diane Scott lead the Artists with her many years of painting in the open air under her belt. The artists settled into their spots around the town of Lovell, some overlooking the lovely Kezar Lake, others by local attractions around town. 

Each artist brought the beauty out through the brush strokes.  

After a day of painting on Saturday, the artists finished, framed, and present their work to us here at Harvest Gold. 

Then on Sunday, the Gallery was opened to the public, to enjoy the works and have wine and cheese and a lovely evening all around.  We have four paintings on display now from the paint out.

Local Places at Harvest Gold Gallery

This beauty by Carol Novotne is along the Saco river.   There are so many paintings of local color that I thought it would be fun to share a few of them.

MaryEllen Serina captured a rainbow over Kezar Lake.

Guy Tringali loves to paint Kezar Lake as well.

Varvara Harmon loves the light on the narrows by the town beach on Kezar Lake.

Carol looks over the Kezar lake from the north end.

Our very own Jean Franz Miller from Center Lovell caught a sunset in Middle Bay on Kezar lake.  Bonnie Ferguson a local summer visiter has a nice one of the birch trees and the sunset.

Diane Scott from Chatham loves to paint plein air style at Catherdal Ledge in North Conway and the intersection of Rt 16 and 302 by the Burger King.  I don't think I've ever seen it look so good!

Diane loves tractors as we can all tell by these local farm paintings of Sherman Farm and the Fryeburg Fair.

And one spot we all know and love Chandlers Garage at the corner in lovely downtown Lovell.

Then we have Ros Farbush who at 83 years old last saturday turned out a masterpiece of our favorite breakfast and lunch spot Rosie's.
