Thanks for a wonderful book signing with Robin Taylor Chiarello!

Robin Taylor-Chiarello, mother, grandmother, primary school teacher and acclaimed children books author, is the phenomenal writer of The Blue Lobster, a tale about the strife for acceptance.  The Blue Lobster highlights the struggle that those who are unique, especially by birth, face in a closed society. Inspired to write this book by the loss of her own son, who was born blue because of a heart defect, and from hearing on the radio the findings of a “one in a million” blue lobster catch on the United States coastline, she created this unique children’s book that can be enjoyed by all because of its moral and understanding.  This tale teaches that acceptance is the only way, because one day, the one who is different may become a star.

The Blue Lobster certainly did become a star as Robin released a second book called The Blue Lobster’s Holiday! in which diversity and love is shown loud and proud. Robin is an advocate for multi-cultural children’s environments, and about loving no matter how different a being might be. She brings forth those morals in this diverse tale of celebration and giving, acceptance and the spirit of the holidays. The story’s undersea life celebrates all cultures and religion, from Hanukah to Christmas, and blessings for all!

The Blue Lobster Wins! Los Angeles Book Festival Honorable Mention, San Francisco Book Awards First Place, Boston Book Festival Honorable Mention, Silver Mom’s Choice Award, and Paris France Winner Children’s Division.

This past Friday we had the pleasure of meeting the author, reading the Blue Lobster Series, and taking home a signed copy from Harvest Gold Gallery. We enjoyed wine and cheese and small hors d'oeuvres from Bill rockin' in the kitchen.  We enjoyed conversation with each other and the opportunity to talk with Robin, about her career, inspiration, and love for diversity and acceptance. Thank you for a wonderful Artist Reception!

Wow, what a wonderful Friday evening for an
 Artist Reception and Open House!

Here in little ol' Lovell Maine, overlooking Kezar Lake, over 30 Artists came to celebrate their art and enjoy the company of many locals and those who traveled from away for this event.

Wine and Hors d'oeuvres were served up from the kitchen,
Bill Rudd style!

The atmosphere was upbeat and enjoyable as each customer browsed the Gallery, in hopes of taking home a new treasure, be it a Maine Tourmaline Necklace handmade by Lynda Rasco, or an Impressionist's Delight by Carol Novotne.

Here Bill and Carol pose together happily in the Gallery

Artists and customers alike shared smiles and laughter
as they marveled at the Gallery

There were more treasures to be found outside in the garden,
where chimes sang and the sun warmed the dragonfly benches, the butterfly sculptures looked ready to take flight!

Through all the joy and admiration, the night was one to remember. Each person left happily, some with gift in hand, others with a memory to serve them of their visit to Harvest Gold Gallery, all, with a happy heart, a satisfied taste for the fine arts and the sunset to their back.

Although the event has passed, the Gallery is still open daily for your enjoyment, please stop by and see what Harvest Gold Gallery has to offer!

Exciting new original oil, watercolor, and acrylic painting will allow you to transcend into the world of fine art through the eyes of thirty-seven different artists. Especially the new pigmented paper paintings by Roland Simard.

The glass collection brightens the gallery with colorful new functional forms, artistic sculptures and fun ornaments.

Wedding at Harvest Gold Gallery

Wedding at Harvest Gold Gallery

On Saturday June 23rd Craig and Megan joined together in marriage

in the field behind Harvest Gold Gallery

A sweet little girl looks at the art and flowers, where so many are captivated by the beauty of the gardens

The chairs were set, and the couple was ready, but the rain had other plans for the day
It was pouring rain the morning of the wedding
and the Bride and Bridesmaids hid out in the cars parked by the Gallery

Some of the guests and guests of honor made their way inside the Gallery to escape the rain and enjoy the art

Finally, just in time, the clouds broke and the sun shone through, making way for a beautiful bride and a lovely wedding procession

The bride and her brides maids were a beautiful sight, illuminating even the cloudy skies

The sweet flower girls littered the ground with petals, through the arbor, where the bride and groom would take their vows

The couple retreated from the aisle, back through the arbor, as Man and Wife

It was a lovely time for all, at the Gallery overlooking Kezar Lake,
 in beautiful Lovell, Maine.

To plan your wedding at Harvest Gold Gallery, contact Bill and Lynda at 207-925-6502

Hi!
This is Mahina Gardener blogging. I am a new employee of Harvest Gold Gallery.
Since beginning working here I have been learning about the art and jewelry, and have been blessed with the opportunity to observe the Jewelers Lynda and Bill at work making their spectacular pieces.
I have also been modeling some of the jewelry in the beautiful summer sun.

In this photo I am wearing Amethyst and Pearl earrings
with an Amethyst necklace
and an Amethyst Crossover Cuff

The necklace here is a Maine Green Tourmaline set in 14k Gold.

Here I am wearing a beautiful 14k Yellow Gold link Chain
three 14k Gold Bangles
 and Diamond and Gold earrings.

It's an incredible atmosphere when the sun shines and the birds sing, the jewelry and art seem to come alive!

Please stop by and see for yourself in the White Mountains when passing by Kezar Lake in Center Lovell, I would love to meet you!

Award Winning American Woodworker Now Showing at Harvest Gold Gallery

We are always excited to share with you, in some detail, the artists that we have show cased at the gallery, especially when they are from our own home state like Rob Jones, our featured artist of the week. Rob Jones is an award winning American Woodworker from Thomaston, Maine. He began his art by building, with assistance, his first banjo, an instrument that had always held an interest for him. Since then, he has built several instruments including banjos, a French horn, trombones, and a trumpet. His musical instruments are played by music professors. He entered his lobster carving in the Maine Sportsman Show and he won the People's Choice award and was hooked from that point on. To view some of his works visit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqWRsRDDb1M

At the gallery, we are delighted to have a sample of his very unique bowls, Baltic by Design. They come in four different sizes from small for a candle holder to large enough to be a center piece with fruit. With the wedding season upon us or Father's Day right around the corner, these would made a fabulous and timeless gift. Stop by any day!
